Last week was beginning of the Christmas season and if you payed
attention you saw the lighting of the Union Square Christmas tree on Saturday
and a ton of other decorations go up all around San Francisco.
For the next few weeks I will tell you about Christmas related
events around the City of San Francisco, give you tips on homemade Christmas
decorations, share recipes for homemade Christmas treats and much more.
San Francisco may not be a winter wonderland, but the Christmas
spirit is still strong here; whether it’s ‘The Great Dickens Christmas Fair’,
which is a Victorian Era street festival has been held for the past 35 years,
in Cow Palace. San Francisco Ballet’s version of the “Nutcracker” or the Union
Street Fantasy of Lights, which is a street festival filled with jugglers, face
painters, contests and vendors. There
are a variety of other Christmas related events to enjoy all around the Bay
Area.
I will also give you step by step instructions for homemade
Christmas decorations; how to upgrade a plain glass ornament, personalize
stocking hangers. personalize place cards or how to make your own Christmas
wreath. There are a variety of economical ways to bring the spread the
Christmas spirit around your home.
I will also share recipes
for Christmas sugar cookies, show you how to make a Christmas omelette and give
you a few tips on building a gingerbread house. After all, what is Christmas
without all the goodies?
Those are just a few ideas I have to help you enhance your
Christmas season.
